I went to Wimbledon on Monday and it was amazing – saw Venus Williams in real trouble – then watched Murray win (from Henman Hill at this point, watching the big screen), then back to Court Number 2 where we saw Andy Roddick crash out after a 5 set match that lasted over 4 hours – brilliant tennis.

A selection of 2010 season Babolat Tennis rackets (as used by Rafael Nadal) supplied by Wildsports will be available for trial at the Tennis Open Day.

Wasn’t he brilliant! While we are at it – don’t forget that we are having a BBQ and social on the courts the day before Wimbledon begins to psyche us up for the event – and to celebrate our new courts. the brilliant LTA Coach Edward Shiu and his assistant will be organising fun coaching – always a brilliant hit for the children – there’ll be bbq

Fantastic news that we have some funding from Greenham Common Trust. Father Oliver, the bursar at Douai Abbey has written to say the Douai Abbey Trust has also kindly agreed to give us some financial help – we are so grateful to both organisations.
But we still need to raise a substansial amount ourselves – the Cheese and Wine on April 24th will be brilliant fun – and I have just joined up to the 100 Club – it works out at £1 month for a chance to win the Douai monthly lottery – really recommend it – only £12 a year and it will be a huge help to the club. Thajks to Ben for sorting the grants and to Wendy for organising the 100 club.
The work has already begun on the courts and will be finished in May.
